Approximately 2,200 Favoto brand bicycle helmets have been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) due to violations of mandatory safety standards. These helmets, specifically the Favoto Model H-1, were sold on Amazon.com and fail to meet requirements for positional stability, labeling, and certification. This non-compliance means the helmets may not adequately protect riders in the event of a crash, leading to a heightened risk of serious head injury or even death. Consumers who purchased these helmets are advised to stop using them immediately and contact Favoto for a full refund.

The recalled Favoto H-1 helmets are described as black with red stripes, featuring black padding and straps with a silver reflective pattern. The buckle is black and red, and the helmets were sold in youth size large (L). A black plastic knob at the rear of the helmet is used for fitting adjustments, and the “FAVOTO” brand name appears in white lettering on the side. These helmets were available for purchase on Amazon.com between April 2022 and January 2026, with prices ranging from $20 to $27. The importer of these helmets is Shenzhen Favoto Co., Ltd., doing business as Favoto, based in China. To receive a refund, consumers must destroy the recalled helmet by cutting the straps and then submit a photograph of the damaged helmet to Favoto via email. No incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with these helmets.

In addition to the Favoto helmets, the CPSC also announced the recall of approximately 740 Foubeaka and Geniuss brand multi-purpose helmets. These helmets, sold on Temu.com from August 2024 through February 2026 for between $9 and $11, also violate mandatory bicycle helmet safety standards. Similar to the Favoto helmets, these recalled products do not meet positional stability and certification requirements, potentially compromising protection during a crash and increasing the risk of head injury or fatality. The recalled helmets are available in white and black and are size small (S), intended for head circumferences of approximately 18.9 to 20.5 inches. They feature black padding, straps, a buckle, and a rear adjustment knob, with the size printed on an interior label. The retailer for these helmets is Shenzhenshilingkexunkeji Co., Ltd., also known as Foubeaka and Geniuss, based in China. Consumers are instructed to stop using these helmets immediately and contact Foubeaka or Geniuss for a full refund. The process for obtaining the refund involves destroying the helmet by cutting the straps and emailing a photo of the destroyed product to the seller. No incidents or injuries have been reported for these helmets either.

Consumers are urged to take these recalls seriously. Wearing a helmet that meets safety standards is crucial for preventing serious injuries during cycling accidents. Those who have purchased either the recalled Favoto or Foubeaka/Geniuss helmets should follow the provided instructions to obtain a refund and ensure these non-compliant products are removed from circulation. For further information or to initiate the recall process, consumers can contact Favoto via email at safety@favoto.com or visit their website at http://www.favoto.com/pages/recall. For the Foubeaka and Geniuss helmets, consumers can email LKX_jiayichen@outlook.com or find contact information on Temu.com.
