The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a critical safety warning, urging consumers to immediately discontinue the use of ALEBEE Bicycle Helmets. The agency has determined that these helmets fail to meet mandatory safety standards, posing a significant risk of serious head injury or even death to riders in the event of a crash. The identified violations pertain to the helmet’s retention system, its ability to remain stable on the head, and its certification and labeling requirements.

The CPSC has officially notified Shijiazhuangshitangtemaoyiyouxiangongsi, a company based in China that operates under the name Tangyuwangs Shop, regarding these violations. Despite requests from the CPSC, the firm has not responded to initiate a recall or offer consumers any form of remedy for the faulty helmets. Approximately 360 of these ALEBEE helmets were reportedly sold on Amazon between May 2023 and September 2025 for around $33 each. It is also possible that these helmets were distributed through other online platforms and by various third-party sellers. The helmets were sold as a one-size-fits-all product, designed for head circumferences ranging from 22 to 23.6 inches. Visually, the helmets are described as khaki-colored bucket hats with a wide brim, featuring an internal black hard plastic shell, a khaki drawstring, and a black spring cord stopper. Inside the plastic shell, a label indicates “BUMP CAP.” The CPSC is aware that the seller also offered the helmets in black, brown, green, gray, and navy color options. These products were manufactured in China.
Consumers who have purchased ALEBEE bicycle helmets are strongly advised to cease using them immediately. The CPSC recommends cutting the helmet straps and disposing of the product to prevent its further use. The agency also emphasizes that these hazardous helmets should not be sold or given away to others. Individuals who have experienced any safety incidents involving these helmets, such as injuries or product defects, are encouraged to report these occurrences to the CPSC through their online portal at http://www.SaferProducts.gov.
