Approximately 170 R.X.Y-branded adult bicycle helmets have been recalled due to significant safety concerns, as announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recalled helmets were found to violate mandatory safety standards for bicycle helmets, failing to meet requirements for impact attenuation, positional stability, labeling, and certification. This failure means the helmets may not adequately protect users in the event of a crash, creating a substantial risk of serious head injury or even death.

The recalled R.X.Y bicycle helmets are described as blue with black and gray padding. They feature black straps with a silver reflective pattern and a black and red buckle with a gray chin strap. A black plastic knob is located at the back of the helmet for fit adjustment. The helmets were sold in a single size designed to fit head circumferences between approximately 22.44 and 24.41 inches. Consumers can identify the recalled helmets by checking the instruction manual for the item number “Kx012.” These helmets were available for purchase online through Amazon.com from September 2025 to November 2025 for about $23 each. The helmets were sold by Tanghexianjinyuanliyueshangmao Co., Ltd., also known as R.X.Y, a company based in China.

Consumers who have purchased these R.X.Y bicycle helmets are strongly advised to immediately cease using them. To receive a full refund, customers are instructed to contact R.X.Y via email at RXY-recall@outlook.com. As part of the refund process, consumers will be required to destroy the helmet by cutting its straps. Proof of destruction, in the form of a photo showing the cut straps, must then be uploaded to the provided email address. No incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with this recall to date.

This recall highlights the critical importance of adhering to mandatory safety standards for products designed to protect consumers. Bicycle helmets are essential safety equipment, and their failure to meet established performance criteria can have severe consequences. Consumers who rely on helmets for protection while cycling should be aware of this recall and take immediate action to ensure their safety by returning the affected products. The CPSC encourages consumers to report any dangerous products or product-related injuries via their SaferProducts.gov website.
