Through their investigation, law enforcement identified the suspect as Alcides Josuap Carbajal Barahona, 19, of Frederick, Maryland. Surveillance footage from the store was reviewed, which reportedly showed the suspect lingering in the vicinity of the victim and appearing to observe her prior to the alleged assault. Carbajal Barahona has been issued a criminal summons, facing charges of Second Degree Assault and Fourth Degree Sex Offense. The summons was reportedly served on April 27, 2026. Investigators with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office believe there is a possibility that Carbajal Barahona may have engaged in similar conduct with other individuals.
