Residents of Washington County are invited to participate in a community clean-up initiative aimed at preserving local natural resources. According to a public announcement from the Washington County Clean County Initiative, the event is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This collaborative effort, in partnership with the C&O Canal Trust, will take place at the Big Slackwater Boat Ramp, located in Sharpsburg, Maryland.

Furthermore, the event is recognized as an opportunity for students to earn Student Service Learning (SSL) hours, making it a valuable experience for young volunteers.
