Washington County, Maryland residents are being encouraged to attend a public presentation of the proposed Fiscal Year 2027 budget. The meeting, organized by the Washington County Office of Budget and Finance, is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Public Safety Training Center, located at 18350 Public Safety Pl in Hagerstown. This presentation offers an opportunity for the public to learn about the county’s financial plans for the upcoming fiscal year.

Individuals wishing to provide input during the public comment section of the FY27 Budget Presentation can do so by completing an online form. The form is accessible via the link: https://wcmd.info/4ez1gqI. For those unable to attend in person, the budget presentation will be available for viewing via a live stream. The video stream can be accessed on Facebook by searching for “Washington County Government – Maryland” and on YouTube under the channel “Washington County, MD Board of County Commissioners.” Additionally, a document titled the “Citizens’ Guide to the Budget 2027” is available for review. This guide can be found online at https://www.washco-md.net/budget-finance/financial-documents/.
Those with questions concerning the budget presentation are directed to contact the Office of Budget and Finance at 240-313-2300. For individuals requiring special accommodations to participate in the event, it is requested that they contact the County Clerk. This can be done by calling 240-313-2204 (Voice) or 240-313-2077 (TDD). Arrangements for special accommodations must be made no later than five working days prior to the presentation. The public’s engagement in this process is considered an important part of the county’s budgeting process, allowing for community feedback on financial proposals.
