A consumer alert has been issued for approximately 23,000 CasaClean Handheld Steamers due to a safety defect that could result in serious burn injuries. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Deale International has announced a voluntary recall of the devices following multiple incidents in which the steamers leaked steam or boiling water. The affected products were sold exclusively through HSN between November 2024 and April 2025 for about $40.

The recalled steamers, model number DF-958, were sold in blue/gray and white/gray color options. Each unit includes components such as a water tank, cap, valve assembly, hose, and nozzle. The model number can be identified on a black bar located on the bottom of the device. The defect poses a serious burn hazard, and Deale International has received 26 incident reports, including 13 cases where users sustained burns.
Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the product and request a refund by following Deale International’s destruction protocol. Customers must cut the cord near the base of the steamer, photograph the cut, and submit proof through an online Recall Request form. Refunds will be issued after validation. The handheld steamers were manufactured in China and imported by Deale International LLC, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This recall highlights ongoing concerns about product safety and underscores the importance of registering consumer products to receive safety updates. Selling a recalled item is prohibited under federal law, and consumers are encouraged to report issues with remedy fulfillment directly to the CPSC.
