The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of RootStim Beard Growth Serum, 5% Minoxidil, affecting approximately 16,900 units. According to the CPSC, the product violates the mandatory standard for child-resistant packaging under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. The recalled product is RootStim Beard Growth Serum, sold in spray bottles. The packaging is described as black boxes with orange and white lettering, featuring an orange mustache icon. The boxes are labeled “Beard Growth Treatment” and “5% Minoxidil – Biotin & Rice Water” on the front, with directions and warnings printed on the sides. The distributor, RootStim LLC, is identified on the bottom of the box. The spray bottles themselves are black with a black spray cap and a clear top cap, adorned with an orange and black label that mirrors the information on the box.
RootStim LLC, based in Lanham, Maryland, distributed this product, which was manufactured in China by Ronghui Intelligent Manufacturing Technology (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. Consumers purchased the serum online through Amazon.com between November 2024 and September 2025 for approximately $20 per bottle.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled RootStim Beard Growth Serum are urged to immediately take steps to ensure the product is stored out of sight and reach of children. RootStim has provided instructions for consumers to receive a replacement product and has requested that consumers discard the original bottle. To initiate the remedy process, consumers can contact RootStim directly by phone at 202-743-1714, Monday through Friday, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern Time. Alternatively, consumers can reach out via email at finergraceing@gmail.com or visit the company’s website at https://rootstim.com and navigate to the “Contact Us” section.
The CPSC has noted that no incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with this specific recall. However, the agency’s action underscores the critical importance of child-resistant packaging for products containing potentially harmful substances like minoxidil, especially when sold directly to consumers online. This recall is part of a broader effort by the CPSC to ensure that products comply with federal safety regulations designed to protect children from accidental poisonings.
