The Frederick Police Department is actively investigating a reported shooting that occurred on November 22, 2025, in the area of Lord Nickens Street. Officers responded to the 600 block of N. Bentz Street around 4:12 PM after receiving a report of a shooting. A preliminary search of the area did not yield any immediate victims or suspects.

Further investigation revealed that a vehicle matching the description of the one used in the Frederick incident was found unoccupied and ablaze in the Germantown area. Authorities confirmed this vehicle was indeed involved in the shooting. The incident has since been assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division – Major Crimes Unit. While evidence suggests the shooting took place in the vicinity of Lord Nickens Street, it remains unconfirmed whether anyone sustained injuries from gunfire.
The Frederick Police Department is appealing to the public for any information that may assist in their investigation. Individuals with relevant details are encouraged to contact Detective McPeak directly via phone or text at 240-578-5684 or by email at AMcPeak@FrederickMDPolice.org. Anonymous tips can be submitted through the Frederick Police Department’s Crime Tip Line at 301-600-TIPS (8477). Residents in the neighborhood who may have security or surveillance cameras are urged to review their footage for any potential evidence and to share it with Detective McPeak. Additionally, tips provided through Metro Crime Stoppers (MCS) of Maryland may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000 if they lead to an arrest.
