The recalled scooters, imported by Konges Sløjd of Copenhagen, Denmark, are described as beige with a T-shaped handle and an aluminum frame. They were sold in two distinct models: model number KS101544-P00005, featuring a cherry print, and model number KS101544-P00038, with a lemon print. Both models are identifiable by a batch number, 062024, which is printed on an information sticker located on the underside of the scooter. These products were available nationwide at specialty stores and online through kongessloejd.com from September 2024 to July 2025, with a retail price of $115.
Konges Sløjd has received 18 reports detailing instances of the left front wheel detaching from the scooter. These incidents have led to three reported injuries, including one case of a broken arm and a child losing a tooth. Consumers who have purchased these scooters are urged to immediately stop use and contact Konges Sløjd to arrange for a full refund or voucher. To qualify for this remedy, consumers must either provide a photograph of the scooter with its stem disassembled from the base or return the scooter to the retail store where it was originally purchased.
This recall highlights the importance of product safety for children’s toys and recreational equipment. Consumers are encouraged to regularly check for product recalls and to report any potentially dangerous products or injuries through the SaferProducts.gov website.
