As a direct consequence of this transition, residents of the Maugansville area will now be considered full-service Washington County customers. This means they will receive their sewer bills directly from the county government. This change also eliminates an administrative fee that was previously charged by the City of Hagerstown. The project, which involved a construction contract totaling $12.9 million, is a key step in modernizing and centralizing wastewater services for greater efficiency and better management across the county.
