James J. Dietrich’s tenure as a prosecutor with the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office spans seven years, during which he has managed complex cases within the major crimes and post-convictions units. Prior to his role in Montgomery County, Dietrich dedicated over two decades as an assistant state’s attorney in the Howard County State’s Attorney’s Office. During his time there, he also led the circuit court trial team for more than ten years. In addition to his prosecutorial work, Dietrich contributes to legal education as an adjunct professor at The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, where he instructs students on evidence, criminal procedure, and trial practice. His academic qualifications include a bachelor’s degree from Lemoyne College and a law degree from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law.
Kristina L. Watkowski brings a background in civil litigation, with a particular focus on land use and zoning matters, to her new position. She joined Booth, Cropper & Marriner in 2022. Watkowski’s legal career began with judicial clerkships for Judges Theodore R. Eschenburg Sr. and Thomas C. Groton III in the Worcester County Circuit Court. Following her clerkships, she served with the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, eventually rising to the position of supervising attorney for the Worcester County office. In this role, she developed significant relationships with collaborating agencies while representing individuals facing a range of criminal charges. Watkowski pursued her higher education at Howard Community College, Salisbury University, and Delaware Law School, earning an associate’s, bachelor’s, and law degree, respectively.
