The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is issuing a stark warning to consumers, urging them to cease using Baberooklin Pack and Play Mattresses immediately due to significant safety concerns. These mattresses have been found to violate mandatory safety standards for crib mattresses, posing a severe risk of entrapment or suffocation that could lead to serious injury or death for infants. The CPSC has alerted consumers to this danger following a failure by the seller to initiate a recall or offer a remedy.

Approximately 1,600 of these mattresses were sold online via Amazon between December 2024 and June 2025, with prices ranging from $20 to $33. The affected products are identifiable by their approximate dimensions of 38 inches by 26 inches and feature an “Aloe” cover adorned with either forest or animal themes. A label attached to the cover also indicates they were “IMPORTED BY UGK-LVM United Inc.” The CPSC is also aware of a similar mattress sold by the company that features an off-white cover decorated with patterns of stars, moons, clouds, and rainbows.
The primary hazard identified by the CPSC stems from the mattresses’ failure to specify the exact brands and model numbers of the play yards for which they are designed. This lack of clear compatibility information can lead to dangerous gaps forming between the mattress and the play yard’s side walls. Infants can become trapped in these spaces, creating a suffocation risk. Such incidents have tragically occurred when a baby’s face becomes lodged against the side of the play yard due to an undersized mattress or added padding, preventing them from breathing.
The CPSC has issued a Notice of Violation to the seller, Beijing Futongshenghua Technology Co., Ltd., which operates under the name Baberooklin and is based in China. As of the warning date, Baberooklin has not committed to recalling these mattresses or providing any form of remedy to consumers who purchased them. Given the serious nature of the hazard, the CPSC strongly advises consumers to stop using these Baberooklin mattresses immediately. Furthermore, consumers are instructed not to sell or give away these hazardous products, as this would perpetuate the risk to other families.
Consumers who may have experienced an injury related to these or any other product, or who have identified a product defect, are encouraged to report their findings to the CPSC through the SaferProducts.gov website. This reporting helps the commission track safety issues and take further action to protect the public.
