FREDERICK, Md. – A fatal collision involving a motorcycle and a car occurred on Thursday evening, August 28, 2025, in Mount Airy, Maryland. According to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), deputies responded to the scene at approximately 6:16 p.m. to assist the Mount Airy Police Department with the incident, which took place at the intersection of W. Ridgeville Boulevard and the Mount Airy Village Shopping Center.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a Honda motorcycle traveling westbound collided with a Volkswagen Jetta that was attempting to make a left turn while heading eastbound. The operator of the motorcycle, identified as 43-year-old Nicholas Main of Mount Airy, Maryland, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. The driver of the passenger vehicle remained at the location, and multiple witnesses were also present. The FCSO is now leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or possesses any information pertinent to this ongoing investigation to come forward.
