Hagerstown, MD – The Hagerstown Police Department has expanded its ranks with the addition of ten new officers, who were officially sworn into duty on August 27, 2025. This group of recruits has successfully completed seven months of rigorous training at the Washington County Police Academy. Following their swearing-in, these officers will undergo an additional three-month period of field training, working alongside experienced officers, before they begin patrolling the community independently.

The Hagerstown Police Department expressed pride in the continued growth of its personnel and confidence in the readiness of these new officers to serve the Hagerstown community. The department anticipates their contributions and wishes them a safe and prosperous career in law enforcement. A formal graduation ceremony to celebrate the achievements of these new officers with their friends and families is scheduled to be held at Hagerstown Community College on Friday, August 29, 2025.
