Between November 27 and December 19, 2022, Mills and an unidentified accomplice carried out six armed carjackings across several communities including Oxon Hill, Capitol Heights, Hyattsville, Temple Hills, and Landover. In each instance, Mills brandished a firearm while demanding keys, vehicles, and at times cell phones or cash from victims—many of whom were going about routine tasks such as refueling or delivering food. In each case, victims complied in fear for their lives.
The stolen vehicles included a Mitsubishi Outlander, Honda Accord, Toyota Camrys, a Toyota Corolla, and a Toyota Highlander. Law enforcement eventually tracked one of the stolen vehicles using GPS and arrested Mills and his co-conspirator following a tactical stop in New Carrollton. Officers recovered two loaded firearms in the vehicle at the time of arrest.
