The individual taken into custody was identified as 38-year-old Charles Anthony Rodgers of Hagerstown. He was arrested outside his residence, located in the same block where the shooting occurred. Authorities later executed a search warrant at Rodgers’ apartment and recovered a .45 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun with ammunition. The firearm had its serial number removed, indicating a potential attempt to prevent tracing.
Police allege that Rodgers had engaged in a verbal dispute with another man before drawing the weapon and firing multiple shots. Fortunately, the intended victim was not injured during the incident.
