According to a safety recall report submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 21 Chrysler Pacifica vehicles manufactured between August 26 and September 9, 2024, are being recalled due to a defect that may cause the rearview camera image to fail to display when reversing. This issue affects 100% of the identified units and poses a risk of collisions due to reduced rear visibility.

The affected vehicles were built with incorrectly specified radios that fail to meet federal safety standards for rear visibility systems. Specifically, they violate Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 111, which mandates that the rearview camera image must be visible at the beginning of each reverse maneuver. The failure results in a blank screen instead of the expected camera feed, reducing driver awareness and increasing the chance of a backing accident.
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) identified the issue during an internal investigation launched in early June 2025, prompted by field reports and warranty claims. By July 10, the company officially determined that the vehicles did not comply with federal safety regulations and initiated the recall under NHTSA campaign number 25V471. The component responsible is a radio unit manufactured by Harman.

Owners of the affected vehicles do not need to take action at this time. All 21 vehicles had their radios replaced under warranty between September 2024 and April 2025. Chrysler plans to notify dealers beginning July 24, 2025, and will start notifying vehicle owners on August 7, 2025, even though no additional remedy is required. Drivers who suspect a problem with their vehicle’s rearview camera should contact their dealer or check their vehicle’s VIN online starting July 24.
