The first incident occurred around 1:01 p.m. on the 1300 block of W Seventh Street. A woman reported that a man forced her into her passenger seat and demanded her purse, threatening to shoot her—though no weapon was seen. She gave him cash, and he fled. Surveillance footage helped investigators identify a silver or white Volvo hatchback fleeing the scene.

Just over an hour later, a second robbery took place in the 7800 block of Wormans Mill Road. In this case, the suspect reportedly pressed an object to the victim’s head and demanded money, again fleeing with cash. The suspect description and method closely matched the first robbery.

Shortly after the second incident, a Frederick officer located a Volvo hatchback matching the suspect vehicle in the Walmart parking lot on Monocacy Boulevard. Police stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Eugene Rilla Facon of the 2400 block of Ellsworth Way. He was wearing the same clothing captured on surveillance and matched the description provided by the victims. A search of Facon and his vehicle uncovered evidence linking him to both crimes.

Facon, born in 1963, was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center and charged with two counts of armed robbery. Police continue to seek information related to the incidents and encourage the public to contact Detective Nicole Smith or use the department’s anonymous tip line.
