We know you value local news and entertainment that is free, open, and independent. Producing high-quality, paywall-free content isn't free. It takes time, effort, and resources to keep you informed and entertained. Unlike corporate media, we don’t have deep-pocketed investors or big advertisers funding our work—we rely on you, our readers and listeners, to keep Radio Free Hub City running. We're literally running on a shoe-string budget, but keep working hard to provide as much news and entertainment as we can.
If just 5% of local area residents became paid supporters at only $5 per month, we could meet our fundraising goals and continue expanding our news coverage depth while continuing to provide free access for everyone. So, if you'd like to help us in our continuing quest to improve our coverage, please consider becoming a paying supporter.
Will you be one of the 5%?

The festival, formerly known as the Hager House Plein Air Free Art Festival, runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features sidewalk chalk art, adaptive art-making for individuals with disabilities, and a large collaborative mural project. Local artists David Buckley Good and Carol K. Miller will give demonstrations throughout the day. In addition to watching art being created in real-time, visitors are encouraged to take part in guided creative sessions designed to be accessible and engaging for everyone, including children.
Artists wishing to participate can register in advance at www.hagerhouse.org or sign up in person at the Jonathan Hager House the day of the event. Registered participants may exhibit and sell their work, with submissions displayed virtually on the Parks & Recreation website and in physical locations including the Hager House, Mansion House Art Center, and Washington County Museum of Fine Arts through the end of September. Artist registration is free, and exhibit locations will serve to increase visibility for local talent.

The Jonathan Hager House, where onsite registration will occur, is the historic 18th-century home of the city’s founder. Located at 110 Key Street in City Park, it is open for tours on Fridays and Saturdays and serves as a central venue for community heritage and arts events. Residents planning to attend the festival should consider carpooling or walking to reduce congestion, as increased traffic and activity are expected around the park.
