According to a statement from Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, assaults on ICE officers have risen by nearly 700 percent. Officials attribute this spike to efforts by anarchist and Antifa-affiliated groups that have released officers’ names, photographs, home addresses, and even details about their children. These doxxing activities have led to threats being made in residential neighborhoods, with flyers containing aggressive anti-ICE messages and profanities.

These actions are taking place as federal agents across the country face increasing violence, including two recent shootings in Texas over the Independence Day weekend that left Border Patrol and ICE agents seriously wounded.
Federal officials have vowed to prosecute those responsible for these attacks and emphasized the heightened danger posed by sophisticated criminal networks, including MS-13 and Tren de Aragua, who may use doxxed information to plan assaults. The lack of cooperation between local Portland authorities and federal agencies, due to sanctuary policies, is further complicating efforts to protect officers and residents alike.
