The operations in Los Angeles have reportedly encountered resistance, with law enforcement officers facing riots and assaults from individuals described as “violent rioters” and “sanctuary politicians.” Despite these challenges, the Department of Homeland Security asserts that its law enforcement components have persevered in their mission to remove criminal illegal immigrants from communities. The department has stated that these actions align with President Donald Trump’s commitment to prioritizing the removal of the most serious offenders.
The apprehended individuals are described as having been removed from American communities, thereby saving lives, protecting families, and sparing American taxpayers the costs associated with their crimes and any public benefits they might have received. Secretary Noem has indicated that these arrests represent ongoing efforts, emphasizing that individuals present in the country illegally will be located, arrested, and deported. The department also stated that individuals who assault law enforcement officers will face full prosecution.
