A 17-year-old male was wounded in a shooting near the intersection of East Baltimore Street and South Locust Street in Hagerstown at approximately 1:30 a.m. on June 30. He was transported to Meritus Medical Center for treatment, and the incident remains under active investigation. The incident is not believed to be related to the Jonathan Street shooting which occurred the day before.
Hagerstown Police officers secured the scene and located the victim with two gunshot wounds. He was immediately taken to the hospital for care.
A short time later, investigators obtained and executed a search and seizure warrant at a residence in the 100 block of East Baltimore Street. During that operation, they recovered a loaded handgun, which has been taken into evidence.
This article was updated 6/30/2025 to reflect a correction issued by the Hagerstown Police Department. A previous press release stated a search warrant was executed on E. Antietam Street. The warrant was in fact executed on E. Baltimore Street.
