Consumers who purchased the FENGQS F7 Pro e-bike through Amazon are being urged to take immediate safety precautions after a federal agency identified a serious fire hazard. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a warning about the lithium-ion battery used in these e-bikes, which can overheat and ignite, presenting a risk of burns, property damage, or even death.

The issue affects approximately 180 units of the F7 Pro model sold online between May and December 2024, priced between $700 and $1,200. At least nine fires linked to the battery defect have been reported, including two cases that resulted in property damage totaling $12,000. Despite these incidents, the manufacturer, Shenzhen Fengqisi Car Industry Co. Ltd. of China, has not cooperated with U.S. regulators to initiate a recall.

The CPSC is advising all owners to remove the battery from the e-bike and dispose of it properly through their local hazardous waste collection centers. Standard household trash or recycling bins are not safe for disposal due to the heightened risk posed by lithium-ion batteries.

The affected e-bikes are identifiable by their blue color, the “FENGQS” brand printed on the downtube, and “F7 Pro” marked on the chain stay near the rear wheel. Consumers should contact their local municipality to determine the proper disposal procedure and ensure safe handling. These steps are crucial to prevent further incidents and protect both individual households and community safety.
