Thousands of Polaris recreational off-road vehicles are being recalled across the United States and Canada after it was discovered that a cracked filter could allow water to seep into high-voltage components, leading to short circuits and potentially causing fires. The recall includes approximately 4,900 units sold in the U.S. and 330 in Canada, along with 185 affected accessory charger service kits. Consumers who own the affected models—2023–2024 Ranger XP Kinetic and 2025 Pro XD Kinetic—are advised to contact authorized Polaris dealers to arrange for a free repair. Polaris is also notifying registered owners directly and has issued temporary operation guidelines to reduce risk until repairs are completed. The recalled vehicles, which sold for between $24,000 and $37,500, were available nationwide through Polaris dealers from April 2023 to March 2025.
Accessory charger service parts with part numbers 2417296, 2417297, 2889704, and 2889486 are also included in the recall. The affected vehicles feature a three-seat configuration and display “POLARIS” on the front grille. Vehicle identification numbers can be found on the left rear frame under the cargo box.
