At approximately 3:26 a.m., a Frederick County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to stop two vehicles believed to be connected to a series of thefts from motor vehicles on Jordan Boulevard. The suspects fled in a 2017 Subaru Outback and a 2012 Toyota Camry. The Subaru, later confirmed to be stolen out of Carroll County, veered off Mussetter Road and crashed into a tree. During the pursuit, the deputy’s cruiser was also involved in a collision, rendering it inoperable. The deputy was transported to Frederick Health Hospital with minor injuries.

The second vehicle, the Toyota Camry, lost control and collided with a stationary patrol car that had its emergency lights on. Fortunately, the deputy had exited the vehicle just before impact and was not injured. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including Maryland State Police and local departments from Frederick, Montgomery, and Carroll counties, assisted in the coordinated search that followed.
