Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) has issued two voluntary safety recalls affecting a combined total of 849 Ram pickup trucks due to separate compliance issues with federal safety regulations. The recalls involve certain 2019–2024 Ram 1500 models and 2025 Ram 2500 and 3500 models, each tied to manufacturing or component-related safety concerns that could increase crash risk or reduce crash protection.

The first recall, identified as NHTSA Recall No. 25V-298, involves 71 Ram 1500 pickup trucks manufactured between March 8, 2018, and February 5, 2024. These vehicles may have been equipped with improperly secured driver’s airbag (DAB) squib connectors, potentially preventing the airbag from deploying correctly in a crash. The defect was identified through a lengthy investigation by FCA’s Technical Safety and Regulatory Compliance team, leading to the conclusion on May 1, 2025, that a recall was warranted. While no injuries have been reported, the company acknowledged that the affected vehicles violate FMVSS 208 regarding occupant crash protection. All vehicles included in the recall were reportedly remedied by the end of 2024.
The second recall, designated as NHTSA Recall No. 25V-297, affects 778 model year 2025 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups equipped with a 3.5-inch digital cluster and column shifter. These trucks, built over a five-week span from January 10 to February 21, 2025, may experience a delay in the display of the gear position (PRND), potentially leading to driver confusion. The issue could result in an unintentional vehicle movement or misjudged gear selection, violating FMVSS 101 which governs control and display indicators. FCA will update the cluster software to address the defect.
