Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is initiating two significant safety recalls affecting a substantial number of Ram truck models due to potential defects that could compromise safety. The first recall addresses a risk of airbag inflator rupture in certain 2019-2020 Ram 2500, 2019 Ram 1500 Classic, and 2019 Ram 3500 vehicles. The second recall concerns a blank instrument panel cluster (IPC) in 2025-2026 Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 pickup and chassis cab models, as well as the 2025-2026 Ram 1500 pickup. These recalls were announced by the manufacturer and reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

In the first recall, identified by NHTSA Recall Number 25V824, a potential defect in the curtain airbag (CAB) inflator could lead to its rupture. This rupture could cause compressed gas to escape rapidly and propel material into the vehicle’s cabin, posing a risk of injury to occupants. The issue stems from a specific lot of inflators that may have been exposed to moisture during the supplier’s manufacturing process, potentially leading to internal corrosion and stress corrosion cracking over time. The affected vehicles were produced within specific date ranges in late 2019. Specifically, 753 units of the 2019-2020 Ram 2500, 858 units of the 2019 Ram 1500 Classic, and 268 units of the 2019 Ram 3500 are potentially involved. Chrysler will notify dealers on or about December 4, 2025, and owners are expected to be notified starting December 18, 2025. The VINs for these vehicles will be searchable on or about December 4, 2025. The remedy for this recall involves replacing one or both curtain airbags as needed, with the replacement modules built with inflators outside the suspect production period. Owners are advised not to drive these vehicles and to park them outside until the repair is completed.

The second recall, designated as NHTSA Recall Number 25V826, addresses an issue where the 12-inch instrument panel cluster (IPC) software in certain 2025-2026 Ram models can cause the cluster to go blank either at startup or while driving. This malfunction prevents the display of critical safety information, including brake system warning lights and gear selection indicators, potentially violating Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) 571.105, 571.135, and 571.102. The risk of a crash is increased without prior warning if drivers cannot see essential alerts. The affected vehicles include 19,670 units of the 2025-2026 Ram 2500 Pickup, 8,967 units of the 2025-2026 Ram 3500 Pickup, 103 units of the 2025-2026 Ram 3500 Cab Chassis, 101 units of the 2025-2026 Ram 4500 Cab Chassis, 43,427 units of the 2025-2026 Ram 1500 Pickup, and 241 units of the 2025-2026 Ram 5500 Cab Chassis. This recall covers a total of 72,509 potentially involved vehicles. Dealers will be notified on or about December 4, 2025, and owners will begin receiving notifications on or about January 8, 2026. The VINs will be searchable on December 4, 2025. The remedy will consist of reprogramming or replacing the affected IPC. Similar to the first recall, owners of vehicles affected by this recall are also advised not to drive and to park their vehicles outside.

For both recalls, Chrysler is using a general reimbursement plan on file. Owners who have questions or concerns about these recalls can contact Chrysler customer service or their local authorized Ram dealer.
