Among the proclamations scheduled are recognitions for Juror Appreciation Month, MS Awareness Week, Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, and Emergency Medical Services Week. These items highlight the county’s ongoing support for civic duty, health advocacy, and emergency services. The Board will also express formal support for a Maryland State Capital Grant application related to the development of a new Williamsport Library, committing over $392,000 in fiscal year 2027 as part of the total anticipated $18.3 million project cost.
At 10:00 a.m., a public hearing will be held regarding a proposed zoning map amendment (RZ-25-001) for a property at 6821 Sharpsburg Pike. The applicants are seeking to apply a Rural Business overlay to operate a tire repair shop within an existing structure. The property lies within an area governed by a scenic and historic preservation easement near Antietam National Battlefield, prompting careful review of compatibility with surrounding land use, preservation goals, and existing zoning overlays.
