The incident took place at 31074 Skipton Cordova Road on a property owned by Monarch Development LLC. Though no injuries were reported and the fire was limited to the pool area, six firefighters from the Cordova Volunteer Fire Department responded and brought the situation under control within 20 minutes. The fire did not affect any structures beyond the pool itself.
The Talbot County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene, and the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office has launched a formal investigation. There were no smoke alarms or fire suppression systems in place, as the location was unoccupied and under development.
