The investigation was carried out by the Maryland Attorney General’s Office, Baltimore Police Department, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement as part of the city’s Group Violence Reduction Strategy (GVRS). Authorities began their inquiry in September 2024 after identifying a violent drug trafficking organization operating near the 4100 block of Morrison Court. This area, associated with elevated overdose rates and violent crime, was home to multiple open-air drug markets.

Investigators found that members of the organization were selling fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine to both pedestrians and drivers, including individuals traveling from nearby Anne Arundel County. Drugs and firearms were stored in abandoned properties. During the operation, law enforcement conducted controlled purchases and ultimately seized over 1,500 doses of narcotics prepared for street-level distribution. Tests confirmed the presence of fentanyl, parafluorofentanyl, heroin, 4-ANPP (a fentanyl precursor), cocaine, and crack cocaine.

On March 4, 2025, search warrants were executed across Baltimore City and County, resulting in the recovery of nine handguns and three Glock switches, which illegally convert semi-automatic pistols into automatic weapons. Among those arrested was 42-year-old Anthony Cheeks Jr., alleged to be a senior supplier within the group. Authorities say Cheeks was found near the drug site with packaged fentanyl and cocaine, two firearms, and large quantities of cocaine and cash in his apartment.

Ten others, ranging in age from 20 to 49, face related charges. Some, including Colby Brown, Rayquan Ford, Kairie Harrison, and Markel Hawkins, have yet to be apprehended. Authorities are urging those individuals to surrender voluntarily and asking the public for assistance through Metro Crime Stoppers. The arrested individuals are currently held without bail as they await trial in Baltimore City Circuit Court.
