Funded through the Maryland Health Care Commission Trauma Services Equipment Grant and coordinated by Meritus, the new equipment features a color-coded design based on patient age. This approach allows emergency responders to quickly identify and deploy age-appropriate tools, minimizing delays and reducing the risk of errors in high-pressure scenarios.
The HandTevy pediatric bags will now be carried on every ambulance and EMS supervisor vehicle in Washington County. This system-wide implementation means that regardless of which vehicle responds to a call, EMS personnel will have immediate access to the same set of tools, reinforcing consistency and readiness across the board.
