The Washington County Circuit Court formally charged Reed on March 26, 2025. Court records show she is facing one felony count of theft scheme between $25,000 and $100,000, and three separate misdemeanor charges related to misappropriation of funds. The alleged offenses occurred over several years, with specific incidents noted from 2018 through 2024. The organization, which works to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and local youth through sports and community programs, expressed deep disappointment over the situation.

PAL officials stated they are working to strengthen financial oversight and restore trust, assuring supporters that their mission remains unchanged. They credited the community for its ongoing support and emphasized their commitment to transparency and accountability. Reed, 55, of Greencastle, Pennsylvania, is scheduled for an initial court appearance on May 1, 2025, before Judge Brett Robert Wilson in Courtroom 4 of the Washington County Circuit Court.
