Authorities are investigating a fatal crash involving an electric scooter and an SUV that occurred Tuesday morning in Hagerstown, Maryland. The incident, which unfolded along Longmeadow Road near Cambridge Drive, resulted in the death of the scooter operator.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene at approximately 6:45 a.m. on March 25. Both the electric scooter and a blue Jeep Compass were traveling westbound on Longmeadow Road when the collision took place. The driver of the Jeep was not injured in the crash.
Emergency personnel transported the scooter operator to Meritus Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
