Maryland State Police are conducting an investigation into the death of an inmate at Roxbury Correctional Institution in Washington County. Authorities have identified the deceased as 21-year-old Lawrence Antonio Borom, who was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel. A suspect, also an inmate, has been identified, though no charges have been announced.

The incident came to light when the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services Internal Investigative Unit (DPSCS IID) contacted the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit at around 7:30 p.m. on March 13. Preliminary findings suggest that correctional officers discovered Borom on the floor with visible head injuries.
