On March 10, 2025, at approximately 4:31 p.m., the Chambersburg Police Department responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of West Catherine Street and Linden Avenue. Investigations revealed that at least one individual discharged a firearm at another vehicle. Authorities believe this was a targeted, isolated incident, posing no ongoing threat to the general public.

The police are currently seeking to identify and speak with the occupants of a blue sedan captured in surveillance images related to the incident. These individuals are considered persons of interest who may possess information pertinent to the investigation. In a separate case, the Chambersburg Police Department is investigating multiple reports of thefts from motor vehicles that occurred overnight between March 5 and March 6, 2025. Surveillance footage shows an individual checking door handles in the areas where the offenses took place. Police are attempting to identify the person depicted in the released photo, who is considered a person of interest. Anyone with information that could assist in identifying or locating this individual is encouraged to contact the Chambersburg Police Department at 717-264-4131 or leave a tip through CrimeWatch.
