Trek Bicycle Corporation has issued a recall for approximately 927 Electra e-bikes due to a defect that poses a crash hazard. The rear fender on the affected models can come loose and make contact with the rear wheel, potentially causing the bike to stop abruptly and leading to loss of control. The recall, announced on February 20, 2025, applies to specific Electra Navigator Go! and Electra Ace of Spades Go! models from various years.

Trek has received two reports of the rear fender detaching and interfering with the rear wheel, including one case resulting in a fractured shinbone, a meniscus tear, and abrasions. The affected e-bikes were sold at Trek-owned and independent bicycle stores nationwide, as well as online at Electra’s website, between June 2018 and August 2023 for approximately $3,000. The bikes were manufactured in China and imported by Trek Bicycle Corporation, based in Waterloo, Wisconsin.
For more information, consumers can visit Trek’s website or contact Trek customer service. The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
