Police reported that Ford disregarded traffic signals, nearly collided with other vehicles, and reached speeds exceeding 100 mph during the chase. The pursuit extended onto Route 15 North before Ford exited the highway near the Hepburnville exit and crashed his vehicle. Ford fled the scene on foot but was apprehended shortly afterward by officers who established a perimeter in the area.
Upon his arrest, Ford was found to be possibly under the influence of cocaine and in possession of cocaine-smoking paraphernalia and THC edibles. Authorities also discovered an outstanding felony warrant for Ford in Montgomery County. Following his arrest, Ford was charged with fleeing and eluding police, resisting arrest, evading arrest on foot, reckless endangerment, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and several traffic violations.
