Squirrel Causes Sharpsburg Power Outage

SHARPSBURG, MD News (10/20/2022) – According to the Town of Keedysville, a squirrel was responsible for a recent power outage in the Sharpsburg and Keedysville area. The squirrel found its way into a Sharpsburg power substation, and caused “considerable damage”.

While First Energy has restored power to customers, a second, planned power outage will be necessary to make permanent repairs. Repairs are scheduled to begin between 9 am and 10 am on Thursday, October 20th, and may last several hours. Customers in Sharpsburg and Keedysville may be without power during these repairs.

There is no news on the fate of the squirrel.
