The Cumberland Fire Department responded to the scene with six firefighters, containing the blaze within five minutes of arrival. The fire, discovered by a passerby, originated in the vehicle’s interior passenger compartment. Preliminary reports indicate that the vehicle had been inoperable for several months, with one battery cable disconnected.
The estimated damages include $2,000 to the vehicle and an additional $2,000 for surrounding structures. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Western Region Office at 301-766-3888.
