HAGERSTOWN, MD News (10/29/2024) – A Hagerstown Popeyes employee sustained burn injuries in an accident on October 28, 2024, while working in the restaurant’s kitchen at 1382 Dual Highway. The incident occurred around 2:40 p.m. when a pan filled with hot grease was accidentally dropped, resulting in burns to the upper body of the worker.

Community Rescue Services responded to the emergency with two personnel on the scene. Following initial treatment, the injured worker was airlifted to MedStar Hospital for further medical care.

According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, which oversees investigations into incidents of fire and burn-related injuries across the state, the accident was determined to be unintentional. No structural damage to the restaurant or need for alarm systems was reported.
