The expansion will focus on the terminal’s east side, where additional ticketing counters, expanded passenger queuing areas, and more space for concessionaire counters will be added. The project will also include behind-the-scenes improvements, providing additional room for airline personnel and essential equipment. These upgrades are expected to improve operational efficiency and support the airport’s growth potential.
Ninety-five percent of the project’s costs will be covered by federal funding, and if necessary, additional entitlement funds may be used to complete the project. The Maryland Aviation Administration has also indicated its support for funding a portion of the project.
