The home, owned and occupied by Rachel Haggerty, Hali Wilt, and Jeffrey Wilt, sustained an estimated $75,000 in structural damage, with an additional $25,000 in losses to the contents of the home. According to fire officials, a smoke alarm was present and activated during the incident. The fire did not involve a sprinkler system, as none were installed in the residence.
The Good Will Fire Company was the primary responding department, dispatching a total of 50 firefighters to the scene. The fire reached a two-alarm status, with crews managing to bring the blaze under control within 25 minutes of their arrival. The area of origin was identified as a second-floor bedroom, and preliminary investigations indicate that the fire was accidental, likely caused by a lamp coming into contact with nearby combustible materials.
