Preliminary reports indicate that the fire originated in an open area between a diesel fuel tank and a diesel engine. However, the exact cause is still under investigation.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the fire to contact the Western Regional Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal at 301-766-3888.

The swift response by the Orleans Volunteer Fire Company helped prevent further damage, but the incident underscores the importance of fire safety measures in industrial settings.
