Among the newly awarded contracts, a standout is a $991.3 million agreement with the United States Army for the delivery of up to 14 additional ISR-capable jets based on the Bombardier Global 6500 aircraft platform. This contract follows a previous $554 million deal announced in November 2023, which also involves the development of two Global 6500 aircraft. The new fleet is part of the Army’s High Accuracy Detection and Exploitation System (HADES) program, which aims to enhance the Army’s aerial intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities.

Additionally, SNC has secured a $170 million contract with the Finnish Border Guard. This project involves outfitting two Challenger 650 jets with advanced ISR capabilities, which will bolster Finland’s border security and enhance their territorial integrity monitoring efforts, particularly along the eastern border. The Finnish Border Guard’s MVX program represents a significant upgrade to their current capabilities, incorporating SNC’s state-of-the-art RAPCON-X™ system.

These contracts not only affirm SNC’s position as a leader in aerospace and defense solutions but also underscore the strategic importance of Hagerstown Regional Airport as a site for critical defense and security projects. The work associated with these contracts will be conducted at SNC’s facilities in Hagerstown, bringing long-term stability and growth to the local economy.

Hagerstown Regional Airport and the broader community are poised to benefit from these developments, as the influx of work and associated high-wage jobs will contribute to the economic vitality of the region for years to come. These contracts further solidify HGR’s role as a key player in supporting national defense initiatives and advancing global security efforts.
