The incident unfolded shortly after 7:30 a.m. when Maryland State Troopers from the Frederick Barrack responded to reports of road rage involving gunfire on southbound US15 at Tippin Drive. Upon arrival, troopers discovered that shots had been fired into the passenger compartment of the victim’s vehicle. Fortunately, the victim emerged unscathed from the encounter. The Maryland State Police Crime Scene Unit processed the scene, recovering a projectile from the victim’s vehicle.

The victim, who reported the incident by calling 9-1-1, provided a description of the suspect vehicle, identified as a maroon Chevrolet SUV with Pennsylvania tags. A lookout for the vehicle was promptly issued to law enforcement in the vicinity.

Investigators from the State Police Criminal Enforcement Division quickly identified a suspect vehicle, which was found unoccupied at a business in Thurmont, Maryland. Officers from the Thurmont Police Department assisted in locating the suspect, Bryant Paradine, inside the business. A search warrant executed on Paradine’s vehicle resulted in the discovery of a loaded 9mm handgun and a spent shell casing matching the caliber of the gun used in the incident.

Following his arrest, Paradine was transported to the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack for processing. He is currently awaiting an initial appearance before a district court commissioner.
