According to the Maryland State Police, troopers from the Rockville Barrack responded to a report of an armed driver shortly after 2:00 p.m. on March 31. The victim, who was not injured, told officers that another motorist pointed a gun at her during a confrontation on the highway. She provided enough identifying information for law enforcement to locate the suspect’s vehicle a short time later.
Members of the Maryland State Police Highway Gun Crimes Initiative and the Frederick Barrack located and stopped the vehicle, finding a loaded handgun visible inside. The 17-year-old driver was taken into custody and charged as an adult with felony assault, use of a firearm in a felony, and multiple weapons violations.
