The initiative involved an undercover group that engaged with potential offenders through various social media platforms. These covert operations, managed by undercover law enforcement officers, facilitated both online chats and attempted in-person meet-ups with individuals soliciting sex from children.

As a result of this operation, three adults were apprehended and charged with Solicitation of a Minor. The individuals arrested are:

  • Roy Charles Babylon Jr, 35, from Brunswick, Maryland
  • Jeremy Eric Winfield Jr, 29, from Berkeley Springs, West Virginia

This operation received substantial support from the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN). The Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy (GOCPP) provided grant funding and strategic assistance, enhancing the capacity of MCIN member sites. This support has been crucial in the identification, disruption, and dismantling of criminal organizations, contributing significantly to the safety and security of Maryland residents

Currently, Babylon Jr, Winfield Jr, and Long are being detained at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center. All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
