HAGERSTOWN, MD News (4/15/2024) – The Hagerstown Flying Boxcars recently announced changes to their upcoming homestand schedule and ticketing policies for the inaugural games at Meritus Park. The initial six-game homestand, originally scheduled to begin on May 3, will now commence on May 4 and run through May 9. The decision to delay the opening game by a day was made to allow the Flying Boxcars staff additional time to prepare the facility for game action.

During the initial homestand, capacity at Meritus Park will be limited to Season Ticket Holders, Suite Owners, 10-Game Plan Packages holders, Silver Sluggers, and Boxcar Buddies. This measure is aimed at ensuring a smooth operational transition for both full-time staff and newly hired game staff. The capacity limitation will be lifted starting on Tuesday, May 14th, when individual tickets for that game and all future games will be available for purchase online and at the Flying Boxcars kiosk at Valley Mall starting at noon on Friday, April 12th.

Flying Boxcars Chairman Blackie Bowen expressed appreciation for the efforts of The Maryland Stadium Authority and Turner Construction in ensuring that Meritus Park will be ready for play on May 4th. General Manager David Blenckstone emphasized the team’s commitment to providing fans with an exceptional game-day experience and thanked the community for its patience and support.
