The proposed amendment intends to remove high density warehouses from structures excluded from the county’s height limits. Currently, buildings taller than 75 feet are permissible for certain structures such as water tanks, barns, and others, but the amendment looks to remove high density warehouses as an exception, limiting their height to 75 feet.
The revision aims to align with fire safety standards. County fire equipment can’t extend beyond 75 feet, making it crucial to limit warehouse heights. The proposed change ensures consistency as warehouses are the only occupiable structures exempted from the height limit.
County staff recommends the county commissioners to approve the zoning amendment, emphasizing the importance of maintaining uniform regulations for public safety.
